Summary:The objective of the work was to develop innovation strategies for the economic reactivation in the context of covid-19 of hotels in the center of Manta city, developing three methodological phases of an exploratory and descriptive nature with a mixed approach. In the first place, the most outstanding hotel establishments in Manta were characterized, these being those classified in five and four stars, such as: Oro Verde, Poseidon, Manta Host, Mar Azul and Balandra, through an interview and a technical sheet to later carry out an strategy analysis through the FODA matrix. Consecutively, the innovation and competitiveness of these companies were analyzed, where through the application of surveys and interviews, data were obtained that determined the implemented innovations. Likewise, the level of competitiveness was identified by evaluating several key success factors, determining that the hotel with the highest competitiveness is Mantahost. In addition, an analysis of the relationship between innovation and competitiveness was carried out, where by means of simple linear regression, it was possible to determine that the competitive advantages are explained in 69.4% by the innovation carried out in the hotels. Finally, innovation strategies were identified for the economic reactivation in the context of COVID-19 of hotels in the center of Manta city, proposing a total of 16 actions that will contribute to the management of said variables for the improvement of the offer, competitiveness and profitability of the hotel service.
