Riassunto:The Pitahaya (Hylocereus undatus) is an exotic fruit, which currently moves the economy in Ecuador, and which is spreading due to the great profitability it promotes, for this reason this research sought to analyze the production systems of red pitahaya (Hylocereus undatus) in Manabí Province, based on the characterization of the practices of crop management. This research was descriptive in nature, in which a questionnaire was applied to 21 producers. The production systems are characterized by being managed by 81% of men, 47.6% are between 36 and 45 years old; 52. 4% are professionals, 52.4% have required financing to implement their crops, of which 47.6% obtained it from a financial institution. It is important to note that 76.2% of pitahaya production systems have technical assistance, 47.6% is hired by the owner; taking into account that 90.5% of those surveyed are members of an association and 90.5% have certifications. 66.7% of the producers manage a planting system that is three by three meters with 95.2% using concrete posts, where 95.2% only plant red pitahaya and 4.8% have started planting with the variety yellow. 61.9% represents the area planted with red pitahaya is between 1 to 5 hectares, where the plantations in 81% are between 2 to 5 years old.
