Shrnutí: | The following research was carried out with the objective of evaluating the capital and livelihoods of the communities Mata de Cacao, Balsa en Medio and Tigre of Bolívar. The challenge of this initiative is to obtain real data that will help the coexistence between conservation of natural resources and the improvement of the quality of life of the population. The sustainable livelihoods approach and the community capital framework have been necessary to develop a historical analysis of the assets or resources that individuals and communities use to establish their life strategies. For this reason, the analysis of capitals: natural, financial, social, cultural, human, physical and political is of paramount importance, since they are part of the cycle for the analysis of the reality and the environmental and social context of the region. In this research, bibliographical information was collected through observation, the data were obtained from the environment and finally a survey with adaptation to the SocMon methodology that is characterized by closed and highly structured questions and with which it was possible to identify the existing capitals in the communities. Since natural capital is the main axis of the rural communities of Manabí, for the development of their agricultural activities, it is necessary to emphasize that if the population had access to government programs for environmental awareness and conservation, a better care and exploitation would be achieved of non-renewable resources, at the same time, will favor the conservation and good use of natural resources. |
