Summary:The general objective of this study was to diagnose the impact of public regulations and policies on the eradication of gender violence in rural areas of southern Chone, with the purpose of designing intervention strategies adapted to this reality. A mixed approach was used that combined qualitative and quantitative techniques. For the diagnosis, surveys were applied to residents of rural communities and interviews with key actors, including presidents of parish GADs, judicial authorities, representatives of the Ministry of Women and social movements. The surveys used the Likert scale to measure perceptions of gender violence, while the interviews explored the limitations and opportunities of current regulations. The results revealed that gender violence has a significant impact on the physical, emotional, social and economic spheres of rural communities. Although existing regulations are sound in theory, their application faces challenges such as lack of resources, lack of knowledge of rights and cultural resistance. The surveys showed deep-rooted perceptions, such as the influence of machismo and gender stereotypes. The interviews confirmed these limitations, in addition to identifying gaps in inter-institutional coordination and in comprehensive care for victims. The findings highlight the importance of strengthening regulations through inclusive reviews, awareness and education campaigns, and strengthening local coordination. A strategic plan was designed with concrete actions to address these problems, which includes workshops, community campaigns and educational programs that promote gender equality.
