In addition, this information gathering technique was used in the development of an accessibility diagnosis that previously required defining and characterizing environmental, socio-cultural, economic and infrastructural dimensions; to continuously analyze the perception of demand where 384 surveys were formalized in a virtual way that allowed to identify that the destination is not fully accessible; likewise, an evaluation of the indicated variable in supply and management was carried out, by means of a field visit and the application of indicator sheets, which determined that accessibility criteria were not properly used; subsequently, a FODA analysis was carried out, which once weighted established the main variables to formulate the respective problem and strategic solution and at the same time it was identified that the strategies to be implemented would be those directed to the reorientation approach. Finally, a proposal for key actions was presented in order to improve access with respect to the offer, public transport, stop infrastructures, information and especially in raising awareness of accessible tourism. |

Finally, a proposal for key actions was presented in order to improve access with respect to the offer, public transport, stop infrastructures, information and especially in raising awareness of accessible tourism.La presente investigación tuvo como propósito realizar un diagnóstico de accesibilidad que contribuya al desarrollo del sector turístico del cantón Portoviejo en el contexto del COVID-19, que acorde al modelo metodológico constó de tres fases: en primer lugar, se analizó el marco legal relacionado al tema de estudio, a través del método analítico y la revisión bibliográfica- documental, logrando evidenciar que existe una base legal fundamentada a favor del turismo accesible. Además, dicha técnica de recolección de información se la empleo en el desarrollo de un diagnóstico de accesibilidad que previamente requirió delimitar y caracterizar dimensiones ambientales, socioculturales, económicas e infraestructurales; para continuamente analizar la percepción de la demanda en donde 384 encuestas formalizas de manera virtual permitieron identificar que el destino no es totalmente accesible; así mismo se efectuó una evaluación de señalada variable en la oferta y gestión, mediante visita de campo y la aplicación de fichas de indicadores, las cuales determinaron que no se emplea debidamente los criterios de accesibilidad; posteriormente, se realizó un análisis FODA, que una vez ponderado estableció las principales variables para formular el respectivo problema y solución estratégica y al mismo tiempo se identificó que las estrategias a implementar serían las direccionadas al enfoque de reorientación.
