Description
Summary:The present investigation had as purpose evaluate the influence of the interspecific competition between the Ceibo (Ceiba trichistandra) and Guayacán (Tabebuia chrysantha) in the spatial distribution, for which determined the competition of the species already mentioned in 4 different zones that correspond to Portoviejo's Botanical Garden, the Parish of Canuto, San Vicente and Jipijapa, by means of the indexes of biodiversity, the Index of Shannon in the zone of Portoviejo's Botanical Garden was of 0.40, in Canuto of 0, in San Vicente of 0.63 and in Jipijapa of 0.40, while Simpson's Index in Portoviejo's Botanical Garden was of 0.14, in Canuto of 0, in San Vicente of 0.27 and in Jipijapa of 0.15, and the Pielou's Index in the zone of Portoviejo's Botanical Garden it was of 0.58, in Canuto of 0, in San Vicente of 0.91 and in Jipijapa of 0.58. To get the spatial distribution in each of the places in study, the Approximate Agglomeration Methodology was applied, resulting in the 4 zones a random dispersion which represents a totally random distribution of the individuals of each species also the maps were elaborated of each zone using a GIS Software. Through the verification of the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador and the Environmental Management Law, were proposed 10 Conservation Policies for the Dry Tropical Forests of the Province of Manabí.
