Análisis del uso de la firma electrónica y archivo digital en la coordinación de Contabilidad del Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado cantón Chone

This research was developed in the Municipal Decentralized Autonomous Government in Chone canton, with the purpose of analyzing the use of the electronic signature and its impact on the digital file in the accounting coordination of the Municipal Decentralized Autonomous Government in Chone canton for performance improvement of its functions in the year 2023. This research was carried out in three stages through the application of inductive, deductive, analytical and synthetic methods. In the first stage, techniques such as the survey developed to measure the impact of the use of the electronic signature in the management of the digital file were used. In the second stage, an interview was carried out with the person in charge of the Coordination of the Municipal Accounting Department, managing to diagnose the main weaknesses of the current documentary system in the management of the GAD Chone digital archive. In the third stage, strategies are proposed that promote the optimization of the digital file. The results were conclusive in terms of the high impact of the electronic signature in the management of the digital files of the different municipal agencies, however, in the accounting area, the management of the financial file with electronically signed PDF files has serious drawbacks, especially with the downloading of documents and their storage, finally to counteract these weaknesses, several strategies are designed to improve the documentary archive based on the analysis of weaknesses found in the research.
