Resumo: | The present study was carried out in the municipal slaughterhouse of the Bolívar canton, Manabí province; in order to assess the prevalence of Mycobacterium Spp. in bovine carcasses slaughtered in this center. For which, by observing a population of 180 bovines, and with Pearson's Chi-square analysis, we proceeded to determine the relationship between the presence of lymph nodes with lesions that correspond to those caused by Mycobacterium Spp, in the carcasses of the bovines. The identification of the presence of Mycobacterium Spp. by means of seeding in Stonebrink culture media, Ogawa Kudoh and Ziehl - Neelsen staining. Next, the prevalence rate of bovine tuberculosis was estimated according to: sex, age and body condition of the bovines under study. Of the total sample evaluated, 55 bovines showed lesions compatible with tuberculosis, from these, samples of their lymph nodes were taken for subsequent laboratory analysis. The data was recorded in the Excel software program and analyzed through the InfoStat software version 2017. Of the results of these analyzes, 11 presented bacterial growth in the culture media described above, which underwent reseeding, of which two were positive; which represents a prevalence of Mycobacterium bovis of 1.11 % (2/180) in the animals slaughtered at the municipal slaughterhouse of the Bolívar canton. It stands out that the positive bovines were females, aged between 2.5 and 3.5 years and with a body condition between 4 and 4.5. |
