總結:The objective of the present investigation lies in the evaluation of the potential of the city of Manta for its definition as a tourist destination and thus be able to determine strategies that allow the tourist development of said city. The research that was used is mixed with a descriptive approach. The methodological design was elaborated from a review of several authors of which the pertinent phases for the study in development were considered. This methodology is composed of a Tourist Diagnostic of the city in which it was determined as a study area the Manta canton, the same one that has a tourist infrastructure standing out as being of luxury category, 5-4 and 3 stars, as well as it has a total of 26 natural and cultural attractions. It was determined that its strength lies in the tourist infrastructure, its opportunity is in the support of the Provincial Government, its threat is the competition of destinations and the weakness is the roads in poor condition. The Evaluation of Potentials phase shows a methodology given by Villegas & Sánchez (2000) in which it resulted that Playa Murciélago is Manta's greatest tourist potential thanks to its wide beach and the variety of sports and tourist activities that can be done there , besides having complementary services such as transportation, food, accommodation, tourist information among others. And the phase that includes the presentation of the results in which the strategies based on the axes of sustainability that are environmental, social and economic are established, implementing strategic pillars such as Management and Ordinances, Environmental Education, tourism activities, tourism products and Marketing.
