| Resumo: | The analysis of the efficiency of financial institutions is essential to evaluate their performance in relation to the utilization of allocated economic resources. In this context, the lack of an efficiency analysis represents a weakness in the cooperative sector. Given this scenario, the present research aimed to analyze the efficiency of Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Chone Ltda. for the identification of financial performance in the period 2019 - 2022. The methodology followed a mixed approach, based on quantitative and qualitative data, and included three research phases; beginning with the identification of the current situation of the institution’s financial services; followed by the determination of the institution’s efficiency through a Data Envelopment Analysis; and finally, the proposal of strategies to contribute to improving efficiency. The inductive and deductive methods were used for the analysis process and conclusions. Additionally, Data Envelopment Analysis was employed as a technique through a model based on linear regression, which determined one output variable and two input variables. For quantitative data analysis, SPSS and Excel software were used. The results show that, during the study period, efficiency was present in most years; highlighting that in 2021, efficiency reached 84%, being the lowest-performing year. It is concluded that the institution faced internal and external factors that impacted its financial performance; however, it recovered efficiency in 2022, reaching 99% |
