Shrnutí:The purpose of this Curricular Integration Project was to analyze how soft skills influence job performance in the administrative area of the Fire Department in Portoviejo canton. To carry out this project, various activities and stages were conducted to meet the specific objectives of the research. Data collection techniques such as surveys and interviews were used, in addition to several methods and types of research. The results positively highlight the significant influence of soft skills on job performance. However, a general lack of knowledge about the meaning of these skills was also evident, along with labor issues related to inequalities among employees. Moreover, the absence of references to soft skills in the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador, the Organic Law of Public Service, and the institution's regulations concerning soft skills and job performance variables was noted. Soft skills are defined as those that individuals develop throughout their lives, while job performance refers to how a person carries out an activity to achieve an institutional goal. In conclusion, although soft skills have a positive impact on job performance, there is a need to promote greater knowledge and recognition of these skills in the legal and regulatory framework, as well as addressing the present labor inequalities.
