Descriptive statistics (average, minimum and maximum values, standard deviation and coefficient of variation) were used. Regarding the zoomometric characteriza-tion there was no difference between males and females, the population showed averages of head length 53.29 (±2.22) cm, head width 21.84 (±1.08) cm, height at withers 137.03 (±4.99) cm, height at rump 136.91 (±4.87) cm, rump width 44, 64 (±2.94) cm, body length 137.81 (±5.08) cm, chest height 61.71(±2.67) cm, rump length 44.02 (±2.68) cm, bicostal diameter 35.31 (±2.88) cm, thoracic perimeter 151.93 (±6.09) cm, shank perimeter 17.81 (±1.02) cm and sacro-coxal height dif-ference 30.59 (±2.40) cm. Regarding the zoomometric indexes, this population was identified as dolichocephalic, longilinear, dolichothoracic, dolichomorphic, with medium metacarpal correlation, dolichopelvic and with medium proportionali-ty index. In the external variables, rectilinear cephalic profile, cervical pyramidal, normal dorsal-lumbar, normal ventral. Regarding the chromohypological charac-teristics, a preponderance of brown coat color (34.29%) and black coloration in the four hooves (42.86%) were found. Finally, these results indicated that this population maintains important similarities with equines of Creole origin from other similar studies. |

Se utilizaron 140 caballos con características fenotípicas que se asemejan al biotipo criollo, para este trabajo se hizo uso de una cinta métrica y bastones zoométricos de diversos tamaños. Se empleó estadística descriptiva (promedio, valores míni-mo y máximo, desviación estándar y coeficiente de variación). En cuanto a la ca-racterización zoométrica no hubo diferencia entre machos y hembras, la pobla-ción mostró promedios de longitud de cabeza con 53,29 (±2,22) cm, ancho de cabeza 21,84 (±1,08) cm, alzada a la cruz 137,03 (±4,99) cm, alzada a la grupa 136,91 (±4,87) cm, ancho de la grupa 44,64 (±2,94) cm, longitud cuerpo 137,81 (±5,08) cm, altura de pecho 61,71(±2,67) cm, longitud de la grupa 44,02 (±2,68) cm, diámetro bicostal 35,31 (±2,88) cm perímetro torácico 151,93 (±6,09) cm, perí-metro de caña 17,81 (±1,02) cm y diferencia de la altura sacro coxal 30,59 (±2,40) cm. Con respecto a los índices zoométricos, se identificó a esta población como dolicocéfala, longilíneo, dolicotorácico, dolicomorfos, con correlación metacarpia-na media, dolicopélvico y con índice de la proporcionalidad medio. En las varia-bles externas predominó el perfil cefálico rectilíneo, cervical piramidal, dorsal-lumbar normal, ventral normal. En cuanto a las características cromohipológicas se encontró una preponderancia de color de capa castaño (34,29%) y la colora-ción negra en sus cuatros cascos (42,86%).
