总结:The objective of the research was to evaluate the influence of different filter media and volume variation with the reduction of ammonia through the use of water recirculation systems with biological filtration for aquaculture use. A completely randomized bifactorial experimental design was proposed, factor A: filter media that varied between activated carbon and zeolite, and factor B: different heights (0.2 m, 0.25 m, and 0.30 m) that were handled in the previous factor. The treatments had three replicas. For the management of the research 18 filters were elaborated equivalent to the six treatments and repetitions, silicic sand, gravel and a bacterial complex of the nitrifying order were also placed (Nitrosomonas and Nitrobacter); the water to be treated was the discharge of the red tilapia culture (Oreochromissp) raised in a pond of 0.5 m3. The analysis were carried out in the production tank and in the filter outputs by means of a spectrophotometer, with this data the ammonia reduction percentage was determined and an ANOVA with a 5% error probability was applied. Finally, H1A was accepted, being the factor A influential in the reduction of ammonia; it was established that the best treatment contained zeolite with a height of 0.3 m; dissolved oxygen, pH and temperature are essential to treat these waters; and, filters are a viable alternative in water recirculation systems in aquaculture production.
