| description | The present research was developed in the Bolivar canton, with the objective to analyze the citizen participation in the management of the Decentralized Autonomous Municipal Government in this locality during the period 2011-2015. Methods such as inductive were used, with great importance to recognize the existing problem; the deductive method is managed to raise the findings on the impact of the processes of citizen participation in the GAD and how this affects its management; For this is conducted an interview addressed to the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Social Management and Citizen Participation; it was also used a survey to civil society that had participated in cantonal assemblies. This obtained quantifiable data that were represented by the use of the statistical method. Finally it was concluded that in the GAD of Bolivar there is an ordinance that is consistent with the laws that govern in the national territory, however, the involvement of civil society is limited to Citizens Watch and Cantonal Assemblies leaving aside other important mechanisms as the Empty Chair. |

Se recurrió al uso de métodos como el inductivo, el cual fue de gran importancia para reconocer la problemática existente; mediante el método deductivo se logró plantear las conclusiones sobre la influencia de los procesos de participación ciudadana en el GAD y como ésta incide en su gestión; para esto se realizó una entrevista dirigida al Alcalde y al Director del Departamento de Gestión Social y Participación Ciudadana; también se empleó una encuesta a la sociedad civil que había participado en asambleas cantonales. Todo esto permitió llegar a la obtención de datos cuantificables que fueron representados mediante el uso del método estadístico.
