Inclusión de harina de residuos de tagua (phytelephas aequatorialis) en la dieta de pollos cobb 500 y su influencia sobre los parámetros productivos

The purpose of this research was to evaluate the inclusion of tagua residue flour, on the productive behavior of Cobb 500 chickens; For this purpose, three treatments were used: T0 or control treatment (corn, soy, vitamin, carbonate and salt), T1 (2,5% of tagua residue), T2 (5% of tagua residue), adjusted all the nutritional requirements to the Cobb manual. 168 birds of the Cobb 500 line were used, distributed in three treatments and seven replicas, organized in a completely random factorial design. The means were compared with the Tukey test (p <0.05). The variables under study were: productive variables, animal welfare and cost-benefit ratio, processed through the statistical package InfoStat (2013). The results showed a minimum efficiency for T1 in the productive parameters statistically compared with the control treatment (corn-soybean), the digestive tract of the birds did not suffer any changes or injuries, in the T0 and T1 the return on investment was $0,23 and in T2 it was $0.21, with T1 being the one with the highest profitability, although it is not so significant. Finally, it is concluded that the addition of flour from tagua residues in the cobb 500 chicken diet does not affect the productive parameters of the birds, so the use of tagua flour as an alternative feed in chickens is not recommended.
