Resumo:This work was developed with the purpose of estimating the genetic correlation and trend of the traits transmitted by Nelore bulls offered by commercial semen companies in Ecuador during the period 2017-2022. The study began with the characterization of the transmission values of productive, reproductive, and morphological parameters of the bulls. Subsequently, the genetic correlation between the productive, reproductive, and morphological parameters of the studied cattle was estimated. Finally, the regression by the year of birth of these animals was determined. The results showed a strong positive correlation between birth weight and weaning weight (r=0.527; p<0.05), and between weaning weight and scrotal circumference at one year (r=0.460; p<0.05). Additionally, there was a significant relationship between body structure and scrotal circumference after one year (r=0.329; p<0.05) and a negative correlation between precocity and age at first calving (r=-0.313; p<0.05). Positive relationships were also found between body structure and weaning weight (r=0.584; p<0.05), yearling weight (r=0.624; p<0.05), and post-yearling weight (r=0.632; p<0.05) respectively. Furthermore, a relationship between growth, morphology, and reproductive and productive aspects was observed in this population of animals. In conclusion, there is a relationship between early growth and reproductive development in cattle, suggesting that bulls with better body structure tend to have higher performance in terms of weight; however, animals with greater precocity may take longer to start their reproductive activity.
