Where a survey and a random sampling of the sectors of the city of Calceta were carried out, from which six urban sectors of the city of Calceta were selected (El Morro, Santa Lucia, Divino Niño 2, Inés Moreno, Francisco Gonzales, Divino Niño 1). Blood samples were taken from the 203 dogs which were subjected to blood analysis using the smear technique to diagnose the presence of Ehrlichia cannis, the data obtained were examined and processed qualitatively and quantitatively using the statistical program Infostad. The study variables were: sex, age, type of habit and veterinary control. Of the total of the dogs sampled, 73.89% positive results (150 cases). Of which 41.87% represent males and 32.02% females. Among the main predisposing factors in the prevalence of Ehrlichia cannis in dogs, we have the age of 3 to 6 years, which represents 53.85%, which is the diet and habitat corresponds to dogs that consume homemade or mixed food and habit. outside or inside the house with 56.67% and what corresponds to inadequate veterinary control such as control of ectoparasites, baths, tick dewormers with 36.67%.
