Özet:The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of neutral soap as a disinfectant in the Hatchery Plant through microbiological analysis in both facility areas and newly hatched chicks. A completely randomized design was used with four treatments: 100ml/L (T1), 150ml/L (T2), 200ml/L (T3), and 250ml/L (T4), with 9 replications, totaling 36 experimental units represented by Petri dishes with selective culture media applied in hatchery areas. For chick analysis, 15 chicks per treatment were selected and taken to the laboratory for corresponding analysis. Environmental samples were collected in the incubator and hatcher rooms before and after treatment application. Normality (Shapiro-Wilk) and homogeneity of data (Levene) tests were conducted, followed by ANOVA or its non-parametric equivalent (Kruskal-Wallis), and mean verification with Tukey or Dunn tests at 5%. Results showed no significant differences (p > 0.05) between pre- and post-treatment counts; however, T3 (200ml/L) presented lower bacterial and fungal loads in the hatchery areas, a result likely attributed to the product’s effect. Regarding the microbial load in chicks, the presence of E. coli was observed without significant differences in counts (p > 0.69), while neutral soap at 250ml/L (T4) showed a significant reduction (p < 0.01) in fungal load in chicks. It is concluded that neutral soap used as a disinfectant reduced microbiological load, particularly fungal, in newly hatched chicks.
