Resumo:This research paper addresses the study of the corn value chain in Manabí province, determining its characteristics, links, main and secondary actors, critical problems or nodes, allowing its characterization and mapping, as part of this characterization of the production chain, the analysis and subsequent determination of a product was proceeded with added value that has potential in an external market, for this reason production indices, costs, profit margins, import and export statistics were analyzed, as well as the analysis of main consumer markets of the product with added value selected within the productive chain of the province. In this way, a projection of costs and profits and the possible benefits for the producer was carried out, determining that the item with added value within the corn production chain that would provide the greatest benefits to the local producer, is corn flour, for which Market identified a potential at the American level and at the European Union level.
