Both are closely related to innovation, income dynamic, and technological change externalities which support economic growth. These are consistent and well-known hypothesis, but also unsuitable when they are compared among themselves. The Environmental Kuznets Curve has been understood as dematerialization, just a spearhead discursive strategy for sustainable development. By contrast, Rebound does not match the dematerialization assumption. Instead, it shows that paradoxically the aggregate use of resources rises when some innovations to save them are displayed.
