Categoría representación social y procesos socioculturales en América Latina

La investigación, con carácter monográfico, tiene como objetivo principal analizar la categoría representación social como herramienta teórico-metodológica para la comprensión de los procesos socioculturales actuales en América Latina. Sus objetivos están orientados a caracterizar la categoría representación social y fundamentar su conveniencia desde sus potencialidades, para develar los procesos socioculturales actuales en la región. Al mismo tiempo tiene como propósito contribuir a posicionar la categoría representación social como herramienta teórico-metodológica en las prácticas de las ciencias sociales actuales en la región latinoamericana. El presente estudio ofrece la posibilidad de analizar las relaciones que se establecen entre las representaciones sociales y los procesos socioculturales donde ellas se forman, emergen y determinan, con lo cual se fundamenta la posibilidad de acceder a procesos de transformación sociocultural, toda vez que la categoría ofrece oportunidades para desentrañar y comprender tales procesos en relación con las formaciones representacionales que le son inherentes. La investigación permite advertir sobre la necesidad de que las investigaciones sobre representaciones sociales en perspectiva futura, se orienten a analizar problemáticas donde se entrecruzan lo social y lo cultural, y así poder aportar a su comprensión y transformación en un escenario de realidades cada vez más complejas, heterogéneas y cambiantes. The Monographic research´s main objective is to analyze the social representation category as theoretical and methodological tool for understanding the current socio-cultural processes in Latin America. Its objectives are directed to characterize the social representation category and to support its convenience from its potential to show the current sociocultural processes in the region. At the same time has as goal to position the social representation category as a theoretical and methodological tool in the contemporary social science field which is committed to social transformation that requires the Latin American region. This research offers the possibility to analyze the relationships between social representations and social-cultural processes where they are formed, emerged and determined, with which is based the access to social cultural transformation processes, whenever the category offers opportunities to explain and understand those processes in relation to its representational formations. This study is also intended to warn us about the need of research on social representations will be oriented toward the analysis of social and cultural problems to contribute the understanding of sociocultural processes in relation with social representations productions, associated with turbulent, complex, heterogeneous and changeable social reality.
