| Samenvatting: | As a premise for the investigation, the problem was what elements in the Popular Economic Units (PEUs) of the cutting and confection sector of the Riobamba canton can be considered economic and extraeconomic factors that affect or are a barrier in an associative process. The methodology used was mixed analysis in order to identify and describe social and economic elements that can characterize the sector and whose logic is framed in popular culture whose tactics used ensure the reproduction of their lives and those of household members. In this sense, PEUs combine secondary activities unrelated to the main activity, another point to emphasize that although they do not have a degree of specialization in administration and management they are maintained over time by the development of tactics or strategies. The identification of economic and extra-economic factors through inferential analysis of the surveys carried out corroborates that the economic variables are a factor when it comes to an associative process while the extra-economic factors constitute barriers to the associative process; however, it is necessary to break with the homo economicus and constitute social capital that derive in an associative culture, This investigation consists of five chapters. The first contains the Introduction; The second chapter deals with the theoretical, conceptual and methodological framework to develop the research process. This defines the concepts that address the main objective of the thesis, the methodology, the sources of the data and the techniques used for its collection and analysis. The third chapter explores the social (cultural) identity and economic identity of the sector of cutting and confection of the Riobamba county according to the field research carried out. The fourth chapter presents the results of inferential research on the factors that influence and barriers in an associative process. Finally, the conclusions and recommendations are presented. |
