Shrnutí:The current research addresses one of the main social problems in the world: drug trafficking; specifically associated with the trade and distribution of synthetic drugs as a phenomenon that is developing with greater force in the Ecuadorian territory, located especially in the city of Quito, "La Mariscal" sector. Starting with the contecxt analysis of drug trafficking in the country, which has been historically classified as a transit country, the problems that this generates in Ecuadorian society are analyzed, and how this has been raised with globalization and the use of information technologies. However, concepts such as narco tourism are determined; Nowadays. This is the current mechanism used for drugs consumption , especially synthetic ones. Places where visitors can access to these substances are restriceted even when they are offered "safely" for consumption. In this sense, A hypothesis is stablished: as an effect of globalization, the trafficking of synthetic drugs in "La Mariscal" operates through drug tourism that promotes the proliferation of interconnections between drug-producing dealers and consuming countries, whose activity becomes invisible to territorial level due to the nomadic characteristics of consumers and vendors. This research analyzes the market for synthetic drugs in the "La Mariscal" sector, and determines how drug tourism blocks the visualization of this problem, reducing the possibilities of control and prosecution of its storage, distribution and consumption. Likewise, the relationship between globalization and drug tourism (synthetic drug market) in the country is determined, through the application of structured interviews to personnel of the Antinarcotics Unit of the Metropolitan District of Quito, of the National Police of Ecuador, as well as , to informant vendors who establish the most widely used mechanisms for the storage and distribution of illicit psychotropic substances, both when entering the country, as well as in the distribution in tourist sectors, especially night entertainment, and finally a survey is carried out on synthetic drug users , who provide experiences and relevant information for the development of this research. Finally, a presentation of the applicable regulations in Ecuador regarding drug control as a public policy is made and, through a case of analysis, the existing shortcomings regarding the prosecution of synthetic drug consumption are established, a market that gains strength leveraged in globalization and the rapprochement between citizens of different countries that technological development allows more easily.
