Transformaciones histórico-económicas e intervenciones público-privadas en el pueblo Kichwa de Rukullakta de la Amazonia ecuatoriana, periodo 1960 – 2021.

The objective of this document is to analyze the causes and effects of the economic transformations and the interventions of public and private organizations in Rukullakta town, in the period 1960-2021. For this reason, this research analyzes the experience of the economic transformations of the town, when its lands became private properties. Since then, its inhabitants experienced two different forms of organization: a cooperative system, that lasted more than three decades, and the community economy model, supported by various public and private support agencies. On one hand, the socioeconomic dynamics of the PKR communities allow us to understand their transformations and their participation in the markets. On the other hand, the research methodology was qualitative, through the ethnographic method, participant observation, the application of semi-structured interviews and bibliographic review. Finally, the results show that the cooperative system did not fit in kichwa people’s reality, although it served to legalize communal lands, later, the inhabitants resorted to a communal economic model.
