Přidat tag | Shrnutí: | This research estimates the impact of remittances on child labor in Ecuador during the period 2006 - 2011, in the context of the crisis in the U.S. and Europe in 2008. In order to get consistent results, we used a Probit and Instrumental Variables Technique and supported by the software Stata. There is evidence that remittances are a contributing factor to the reduction of child labor in 2006, 2007 and 2010, with a probability of 3.7%, 3.1% and 4.3%, respectively. Finally, we propose strategies for public policy in the field of child protection. |
