Las salvaguardias, balanza comercial y el sector textil en el Ecuador 2014-2016.

This work is centered around research that focuses on the analysis of the application of safeguard measures taken by the current Government and the effect that these had both on the balance of trade and on the textile industry during the 2014 - 2016 period. Ecuador, since its inception, has been characterized as an exporter of primary goods, but not of value-added products. On the other hand, when buying prefers higher-quality and value-added products, this process has led to the constant loss of capital to outside destinations causing the trade balance to be affected negatively in the current state. Faced with this situation, the Government took the decision to apply safeguards as trade defense measures that are aimed at reducing the deficit of the trade balance.
