| Summary: | In so far this century, the media have been used as the privileged actor to spread the proclamations that lead to the seizure of power and during the coups raised in this course have become the ideological arm of the sectors opposition, acting primarily as a combat weapon to delegitimize the actions and weaken the image of a certain constitutionally elected government. These aspects can be clearly identified by analyzing various attempts at destabilization and coups developed in the region in recent years: Venezuela 2002, Bolivia 2008 and Honduras in 2009. Since they can see how this strategy has been a practice very common and how certain private media have been precisely one of the key actors that have made viable. In this context of aggression against the constitutional order, the September 30, 2010 with the approval of the National Assembly LOSEP, occurred in Ecuador the revolt of a section of members of the National Police and the Armed Forces. But this protest was not only a set of casualty or isolated, because with the passing hours there was a progressive increase in violence, causing insubordination happens to an attempted coup, and the attempt to assassinate President Rafael Correa as he was rescued from the Hospital of the police and in the evening hours. With this background, this paper makes an analysis of the role played by the media before, during and after the 30-S in order to know whether the management of information carried by them represented a risk to state security Ecuador. |
