La mayoría de personas se basan en historias poco conocidas acerca del pueblo ancestral Otavaleño haciendo que el conocimiento sea erróneo tanto en las unidades educativas como en la comunidad en general; es por eso que se ha construido un material didáctico con el cual se demuestra y se impregne visualmente las costumbres verdaderas. El hábito de practicar las costumbres antepasadas se ha ido perdiendo por varios aspectos que influyen en la sociedad como: la migración, introducción de costumbres y tradiciones extrañas a las del pueblo; a más de la vestimenta que conforme va transcurriendo el tiempo empiezan a perder el gusto de utilizar prendas propias de su cultura como son las alpargatas, collares que resaltan la belleza de la mujer otavaleña y en muchas personas hasta la tradicional anaco, que hace que resalte la elegancia del habitante otavaleño.
