La motricidad gruesa favorece la adaptación del individuo al mundo exterior, puesto que permite la estimulación de diferentes procesos neuromotores: posturales, de coordinación, de equilibrio. La motricidad gruesa favorece además en el control del cuerpo y del equilibrio es uno de los aspectos importantes que tienen los y las pequeños/as para descubrir nuevas sensaciones y poder trasladarse de un lugar a otro, motivarles a que sigan realizando actividades complejas con la ayuda de los demás.
