Riassunto:We developed a study with a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional cohort approach was carried out to determine the level of knowledge, attitude and technique on exclusive breastfeeding mothers of the Hospital Básico Asdrúbal de la Torre, Cotacachi with the goal to determine the level of knowledge and techniques of breastfeeding in mothers of the gynecology service at the Hospital Básico Asdrúbal de la Torre, Cotacachi and provide a theoretical basis for a correct breastfeeding technique during the period October 16, 2023 until January 31, 2024 through the application of a survey composed of 18 questions, to a population of 120 mothers. After analyzing and quantifying data, the results regarding the level of knowledge about breastfeeding were: 0 to 6 points important difficulty 39.2% 7 to 12 points moderate difficulty 45.8% 13 to 18 points without difficulty/ optimal situation 15 % concluding that the level of knowledge on breastfeeding techniques of mothers of the Hóspital Básico Asdrúbal de la Torre, Cotacachi is low since it shows that the socioeconomic and education levels also ethnicity are main factors to determine the total ignorance of breastfeeding techniques and its benefits for the development and growth of newborns. As an important point, the effective socialization of the Esamyn (breastfeeding) regulations should be guaranteed to all health personnel of the establishment under study, emphasizing the nursing staff, who are responsible for the direct care of the patients.
