| Gaia: | The research focuses on evaluating the quality of habitat in the Bellavista neighborhood of Caranqui, Ibarra, covering three levels: internal, medium and urban. A qualitative analysis through surveys based on the work of Hernández G and Velásquez S (2014) in Western Mexico is used to measure habitat quality at the internal level. This includes aspects of functionality, spatiality, dynamism, identity and safety, along with perception indicators such as comfort, human well-being and privacy. To evaluate the levels of habitability in collective housing and its relationship with the neighborhood, a quantitative analysis is used that considers parameters such as green areas, roads, housing density, diversity of activities, proximity to public recreational spaces, mobility networks and infrastructure services. These parameters are based on a compact city model. Based on the premise that housing is an integral part of the city and its habitability depends on it, an urban-level intervention is proposed based on a diverse and walkable neighborhood, promoting an environment conducive to residential activity. At the micro level, we seek to significantly improve the internal habitability of collective housing in terms of function, flexibility, privacy and typological diversity, accompanied by a design that follows the principles of compactness, such as housing density, green areas, road area and diversity of activities, to create a more efficient, safe and attractive environment. |
