Summary:This web system for pet adoption and lost pet location was implemented at the Fauna Urbana Foundation in Ibarra, aiming to optimize the processes of managing adoptions and recovering lost animals, thereby improving interactions between adopters and administrators. By employing the agile eXtreme Programming (XP) methodology, a platform was developed that enables users to register, search for pets, and report missing animals, while administrators can manage adoption requests, update pet statuses, and record lost animals. As a result, robust security measures were integrated, including password encryption and a secure authentication process, safeguarding users’ personal information. Additionally, the user-friendly interface facilitates responsible adoption by enhancing pet visibility and streamlining the search process. The platform also includes a dedicated section for lost pets, providing a comprehensive and efficient user experience. Moreover, the system is scalable, allowing it to expand as the Foundation grows. In conclusion, the implementation of this web-based solution accelerates adoption processes and promotes animal welfare, thus contributing to a more conscious and responsible community.
