Тойм: | The present investigation was carried out in order to test the adaptability of three hybrid melon varieties to the agroclimatic conditions of the Antonio Ante Canton, Imbabura Province, since there was no research directly related to the subject and due to the concern that in the area No melon crops have been found in the study, being a reason to promote its cultivation. In recent decades, Ecuador has had a significant increase in the consumption of melon cultivation (Cucumis melo L.), ranking as one of the three main cucurbits planted, mostly in the coastal part of Ecuador. The main objective of this trial will be to identify the variety or varieties with the best adaptability. Subsequently, the variables will be evaluated (Days to flowering\; Days to fruiting\; Fruit weight\; Fruit diameter\; Total solids\; Yield). To carry out this project, a completely randomized block experimental design was carried out, with three repetitions. In the comparison of treatment average, Tukey's test at 5% probability. According to the results obtained from the yield variable, there were statistically significant differences between varieties, the Edisto variety with 8762.53 kg/ha followed by the Annas D-amerique variety with an average of 4440.6 kg/ha and the Palmeira variety with an average of 4198.2kg/ha. |
