Gaia:The thesis project is developed in the community of Larcacunga, located in the parish of Quichinche, belonging to the Otavalo canton in the province of Imbabura. The research focuses on addressing issues related to the loss of cultural identity and unemployment due to limited development opportunities. The community has resources that can be utilized for its own benefit, including large areas of green spaces, diverse flora and fauna, and an identity linked to the history of the parish of Quichinche and Otavalo. An architectural, social, economic, and environmental solution is proposed, considering the surroundings and the problem to be solved. By providing spaces for workshops, gastronomic and handicraft sales points, tourist accommodations, and viewpoints to leverage the scenic views, the aim is to compensate for the lack of infrastructure in the parish of Quichinche, revitalize the culture, and reactivate the local economy by harnessing the tourism potential of the area.
