Diseño de un centro cultural para la ciudad de Bolívar en la provincia del Carchi

This thesis is focused on the design of a community cultural center for the city of Bolívar, province of Carchi, which allows to counteract one of the problems of the sector. Bolívar has sociocultural and entrepreneurial activities, but lacks adequate infrastructure and public spaces that allow their dissemination, through which local tourism is generated\; as well as allowing the population to live in a community, share activities that help preserve the traditions of the place, strengthen their values as people and make use of their free time in an appropriate way. That is why, for the proposal of this cultural facility, the site analysis, a documentary review and the application of interviews to cultural actors that allowed to know more in depth the needs of the sector and thus provide successful solutions are carried out. The proposal of the community cultural center is developed based on design strategies that were obtai ned from the documentary review, analysis of analogous projects, as well as the vernacular architecture of the site. This creates a stereoscopic architecture that uses local materials in their natural state, adapts to the topography and integrates into the context. In addition, this facility provides multifunctional, pleasant and comfortable spaces that make people take ownership of the place, become interested in the practice of sociocultural expressions, which leads to their dissemination, and also strengthens social cohesion.
