Zusammenfassung:Organized crime has generated a negative impact on the citizen security of Ibarra canton through the presence of organized groups whose aim is to carry out criminal acts for economic gain. Therefore, the present research had the general objective of determining the impact of organized crime on citizen security in Ibarra canton during the 2022-2023 period. This was done using a qualitative methodology with a descriptive and explanatory depth level, employing normative and socio-legal methods. The techniques included documentary analysis, interviews, surveys, and data analysis, with the purpose of obtaining relevant information that allowed for the presentation of a solution proposal to the problem. These elements were of transcendental value in determining the scope and impact generated on citizen security by the presence of organized crime. Furthermore, the present study involved the local community, aiming to improve citizen security and justice. In this regard, the complexity of the phenomenon was acknowledged, highlighting the need for a comprehensive approach with effective implementation, inter-institutional collaboration, and citizen participation. An increase in the crime rate in the years 2022-2023 and the delayed response from the government were evident. The importance of comprehensive and collaborative responses to address organized crime in Ibarra was emphasized. The result obtained was that the presence of criminal groups in Ibarra canton generates violence and fear, especially among the youth, threatening citizen security. Additionally, it revealed a widespread perception among the citizenry regarding the issue of organized crime, recognizing it as a problem that affects citizen security, influencing the decisions of investors and entrepreneurs, thereby impacting economic stability.
