description The Otavalo canton is largely dedicated to the artisanal and industrial production and marketing of different products. The artisan activity represents one of the main sources of income that the Otava leños have, followed by tourism and finally, agriculture and livestock. It is clear that the Otavaleño artisans and the free craft fairs that they propose are a great contribution that stimulate the economy and strengthen the cultural identity of the city, currently the implementa tion of these commercial spaces is carried out on public roads in the area. central of the canton, as a consequence of this we obtain an inadequate use of public space generating conflicts of vehicular and pedestrian congestion. As a result, we have a city with its own identity, but in complete disorder at the commercial level and without any kind of artisanal production vision. The project as such has a road reordering approach, an optimization to the commercial field, and mainly the development of cultural manifestations combined with education and training in craft production issues. Therefore, a road intervention is proposed at the urban level, thus proposing a pedestrian-commercial route in the central area of Otavalo, and the architectural design of an Arti san and Cultural Training Center, which will allow us to generate all kinds of production workshops. artisanal and cultural manifestations, keeping alive the traditions and customs of our ancestors and the main thing strengthening the knowledge about the Otavaleña identity and culture. The main objective of the commercial pedestrian route will be to directly link the equipment to be designed “Artisan and Cultural Training Center” with two representative equipment of Otavalo such as the Civic Plaza “cultural manifestations” and the Plaza de los ponchos “craft market” and equally way to visually rescue the value and importance of a heritage property “Railway Station”

The Otavalo canton is largely dedicated to the artisanal and industrial production and marketing of different products.
