Evaluación multicriterio para la ubicación de escombreras en el cantón Ibarra, a través de la ponderación de sus variables con el uso de la herramienta ArcGIS

This research focused on the management of debris in the city and Ibarra, province of Imbabura, had the purpose of determining the criteria used for the location of dumps in the canton of Ibarra, applying the multi-criteria analysis for the optimal location of dumps in the canton of Ibarra with the ArcGis tool. To verify if the possible sites for the location of landfills comply with the minimum requirements established in the current environmental regulations. For this purpose, a multi-criteria analysis was used, taking into account the parameters mentioned in the current environmental regulations, specifically in TULSMA book 6, annex 6, which mentions solid waste disposal. As a result, 6 landfills with dimensions equal to or greater than 1 hectare were identified, as well as areas suitable for the establishment of landfills that comply with the parameters established in the regulations. With the use of ArcGis software, 6 optimal areas were identified within the canton of Ibarra, which can be used for the implementation of landfills and thus manage the disposal of debris in an efficient manner, mitigating the impacts that could be caused by poor debris management. With the result of these 6 areas given by the application of the multicriteria analysis, the authorities of the Ibarra canton will be able to choose which area favors them the most, taking into account the proximity to the public works to be carried out in their period.
