description The present work is developed in the Cotacachi canton, province of Imbabura, in a natural buffer zone, focusing on providing a better tourist service in the area, taking advantage of the natural and landscape wealth that the site has. The project is part of the design of ecological architectural spaces, which aims to satisfy the needs of the tourist population in the sector, without generating footprints or environmental damage. It will have spaces intended for recreation and the connection of humans with nature, thus giving it an ecological character through the use of technological systems of renewable energy and knowledge of the knowledge and traditions of the culture of the sector. The project responds to the needs and resources that the sector has, resulting in the creation of a four-star Eco Hotel. Seeking to implement an Ecotourism model in the sector, which provides a relationship between the population of the sector, tourists and the environment as a beneficial system for all three parties. Through ecological and sustainable architecture, strategies will be implemented that contribute to the conservation of the environment as bioclimatic and materiality solutions. Linked to new spaces for recreation, contemplation and rest in the same place. This will be done in order to show that strategies can be applied in a project that ranges from urban design to the internal architectural design of the Eco-Hotel. For the design of this project, all the analyzed topics have been considered, so that the approach strengthens the main characteristics of the site and compensates with new spaces for the environment. The process will be carried out in two phases, an urban proposal and an architectural one. The urban proposal is defined by the intervention of the main access road (Vía Intag), generating a linear route where bus stops will be strategically located, which will have explanations about the communities of Cuicocha, a lane will also be included intended for the use of bicycles. In the development of the architectural proposal, the design of an eco-hotel will be carried out, potentiating tourism in the Cotacachi Cayapas National Park, to raise the level of social and cultural life of the inhabitants of the Cotacachi canton.

El proyecto se enmarca en el diseño de espacios arquitectónicos ecológicos, que tiene como objetivo satisfacer las necesidades de la población turista del sector, sin generar huellas ni daño ambiental. Contará con espacios destinados a la recreación y a la conexión del humano con la naturaleza, dándole así un carácter ecológico por medio de la utilización de sistemas tecnológicos de energías renovables y conocimiento de los saberes y tradiciones de la cultura del sector. El proyecto responde a las necesidades y recursos que posee el sector, dando como respuesta la creación de un Eco Hotel de cuatro estrellas. Buscando implantar un modelo de Ecoturismo en el sector, que brinde relación entre la población del sector, los turistas y el ambiente como un sistema beneficioso para las tres partes. Por medio de Arquitectura ecológica y sostenible se implementarán estrategias que contribuyan con la conservación del medio ambiente como soluciones bioclimáticas y de materialidad. Ligado a nuevos espacios de recreación, contemplación y descanso en un mismo lugar. Esto se hará con el fin de mostrar que se pueden aplicar estrategias en un proyecto que abarca desde el diseño urbano, hasta el diseño arquitectónico interno del Eco-Hotel. Para el diseño de este proyecto se han considerado todos los temas analizados, con el fin de que el planteamiento fortalezca las principales características del sitio y compense con nuevos espacios al entorno. El proceso se va a llevar a cabo en dos fases una propuesta urbana y una arquitectónica. La propuesta urbana se define por la intervención de la vía de acceso principal (Vía Intag), generando un recorrido lineal en donde estarán ubicadas de manera estratégica paradas de bus, las cuales contrán con explicaciones sobre las comunidades de Cuicocha, también se incluirá un carril destinado al uso de bicicletas.
