For this rescue center, three important spaces are proposed: shelter area, adoption and veterinary hospital, but the main focus is the design of the hospital, considering animal health to be of greater importance. The equipment is especially planned for the Monserrat neighborhood, where a higher abandonment rate was found, and in general for the city of Otavalo, since it will offer care for pets with and without homes. For the facades it was decided to use acetylated wood lattices, inclined ruffles and murals of animals, which give a unique and pleasant appearanceEl presente trabajo de titulación tiene como punto de partida analizar la situación real que atraviesa el barrio Monserrat de la ciudad de Otavalo, en base a la problemática que existe sobre la cantidad de mascotas abandonadas que deambulan por las calles, y que aumentan día a día, además se analiza la calidad y cantidad de establecimientos de medicina veterinaria de la ciudad, para poder ofrecer una propuesta urbano-arquitectónica, a través del diseño de un centro de rescate animal que solucione en gran medida el problema. Para este centro de rescate se plantea tres espacios importantes como son: área de refugio, adopción y hospital veterinario, pero el enfoque principal es el diseño del hospital, por considerar de mayor importancia la salud animal. El equipamiento se proyecta especialmente para el barrio Monserrat donde se encontró un índice mayor de abandono y en general para la ciudad de Otavalo, ya que ofrecerá atención para mascotas con y sin hogar, además se diagnosticó que en la ciudad a pesar de que existen pequeñas clínicas estas no cuentan con los servicios necesarios y no abastecen a toda la ciudad. En el sector que se plantea el proyecto, se realiza análisis climático, demográfico, usos de suelo, topografía, equipamientos existentes; revisión de documentos como normativas, se analizan tres referentes importantes, que tiene como objetivo brindarnos parámetros de diseño tanto en forma, función y estructura. El proyecto cuenta con amplias áreas verdes, diseño de paisaje que vincula la escala macro y meso hacia el punto de llegada la escala micro.
