Sumario:This research was carried out to determine if the millennial generation in Ibarra suffers from digital infobesity and if this has any significant impact on their lives. To do this, a literature review was conducted to understand in depth the concepts of digital infobesity, millennials, among others relevant to this work. A comprehensive study combining quantitative and qualitative methods was conducted. Through an experiment with a representative sample of 30 people, it was found that excessive use of mobile devices acts as a source of distraction, which affects the ability to perform tasks efficiently. It was observed that when people are less exposed to these distractions, they are able to fulfill their responsibilities more quickly and effectively. Furthermore, the results obtained through a survey applied to teachers at PUCE IBARRA revealed that information overload has a negative impact on various aspects of their lives. It not only affects their physical and mental health but also their work performance. Based on the gathered information and data, it can be inferred that work environments are more prone to developing infobesity.
