description Globally, the foods that are produced are increasingly harmful to human health due to the high content of chemical residues they contain. One of the main problems is the excessive and inappropriate use of agricultural inputs to control fungal diseases in passion fruit cultivation Passiflora ligularis P., in addition to low knowledge on integrated management of pests and diseases by producers. This is why one of the alternatives to reduce the use of chemical fungicides such as Mancozeb, for anthracnose management, is biological control that reduces chemical residues in the fruit. Trichoderma spp is an excellent biological controller of some pathogens, such as Fusarium oxysporum, Botrytis cinerea, Phytophthora infestans, which cause production losses and decrease yields. The main objective of this study was to evaluate in vitro the fungus Trichoderma spp as a potential antagonist in the control of anthracnose disease caused by the phytopathogen Colletotrichum gloeosporioides Penz in granadilla. The research was carried out in the laboratories of PUCE-SI, Ibarra canton, Imbabura province, and a completely randomized design was used with three doses of Trichoderma spp (1x103 , 1x105 , 1x107 spores/ml) and a control based on Mancozeb with three repetitions in each treatment. The dual culture technique was used, where the best control of the pathogen was obtained with a dose of 1x107 ufc/ml. In addition, the two best doses were evaluated in humid chambers with infected leaves, measuring the diametral growth of the lesion, obtaining the best result with 1x107 spores/ml of Trichoderma spp. For this reason, the antagonist under study is an alternative to control the anthracnose disease in passion fruit, contributing to the healthy production of agricultural products and the care of the environment.

Globally, the foods that are produced are increasingly harmful to human health due to the high content of chemical residues they contain.
