Diseño de un centro de atención gerontológico integral basado en la arquitectura orgánica para Ambuquí – Imbabura

This research work focuses on the pressing need for priority attention to the elderly. Considering the current shortage of establishments designated for the care of the elderly, an urgent need exists for an integral gerontological care model that addresses these deficiencies and provides a solid and sustainable solution. According to studies sourced in this research, there is a growth of 11% in the elderly population within a three-year period from 2020. This progressive increase implies the necessity of ensuring the existence of an integral gerontological care model that provides a high level of comfort and services to promote the quality of life of the elderly under criteria of integrality and organic architecture. During the research, it was observed that an increasing number of elderly individuals are moving to the community of Ambuquí, in the canton of Ibarra, taking advantage of its warm dry climate, exceptional characteristics, and the connection with nature for therapeutic purposes. Therefore, it is proposed to design an integral gerontological care center based on organic architecture for Ambuquí, Imbabura, to support the well-being of this vulnerable group, generating knowledge and innovative strategies to meet the needs of the elderly. These facilities will seek to provide not only physical but also sensory and emotional comfort to the elderly, fostering their integral development.
