The results indicate that there is a direct participation of 50 % of men aged 45 years and older, where 65 % cannot read or write, families are made up of 66,66 % of 4-5 people; In the commune there is presence of hens, goats and Creole pigs. These animals develop freely in all areas of the commune. The results report that on average the inhabitants have nine hens, seven goats and four Creole pigs in different physiological stages; These animals are constantly in grazing. Their main food source is the products and by-products of crops with 50 %, 15 % of household waste and remain 100 % to grazing; the production obtained from meat, milk, eggs of these animals 30 % is for family consumption and 70 % for sale; the animals do not have infrastructure in the raising so 70 % of these have semi-extensive management. This indicates that Creole domestic animals have been an important part of the nutrition of families in the community of San Marcos and support for their family economy.

El estudio empleó una encuesta previamente estructurada, en la cual se indagó sobre la estructura familiar, las características socio-económicas y manejo de los animales. Los resultados indican que existe una participación directa del 50 % de los hombres con edades entre 45 años en adelante, donde el 65 % no saben leer ni escribir, las familias están conformadas en 66,66 % de 4-5 personas; en la comuna hay presencia de gallinas, caprinos y cerdos criollos estos animales se desarrollan de forma libre en todas las áreas de la comuna los resultados reportan que en promedio los pobladores tienen nueve gallinas, siete chivos y cuatro cerdos criollos en diferentes etapas fisiológicas; estos animales se encuentran constantemente en pastoreo su fuente de alimentación principal son los productos y subproductos de sembríos con 50 %, 15 % de desperdicios del hogar y permanecen 100 % al pastoreo; la producción obtenida de carne, leche, huevos de estos animales un 30 % es para autoconsumo de la familia y el 70 % a la venta; los animales no cuentan con infraestructura en la crianza por lo que el 70 % de estos tienen un manejo semiextensivo.
