Opis
Streszczenie:This research analyzes the impact of labor informality in the Bahía de Guayaquil and how it affects the guarantee of labor rights. In Ecuador, the lack of formal employment has driven many citizens to engage in informal activities as their sole source of income, without access to social security, fair wages, or adequate working conditions. This situation undermines fundamental rights such as the right to dignified old age, medical care, and job stability. Structural and social factors that perpetuate informality are identified, including regulatory rigidity, lack of opportunities, and the absence of effective policies. Through a mixed approach (quantitative and qualitative), surveys will be conducted with informal workers and interviews with legal experts to assess their current situation and propose corrective measures. The study also includes an analysis of national and international legal frameworks, which recognize the right to decent work and social security, although, in practice, informal workers remain excluded from these guarantees. The key role of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in conceptualizing the informal economy and the need to integrate policies that facilitate the transition to formality are highlighted. Finally, the study concludes that the State must take an active role in reducing informality through incentives, streamlining procedures, and strengthening access to labor rights, in order to ensure a dignified and equitable life for all workers, especially those operating outside the formal system.
