The hypothesis of this research was to verify that there is a growing demand prompted by an increase in accidents. During the period of analysis, the purpose was to determine the factors that define the cost of insurance in the Ecuadorian market; to observe the expectations and perspectives of risks and uncertainties that could arise in the future. The research was an exploratory type and use a quantitative methodology. Statistical tests and analysis were carried out utilizing data from the Ecuadorian Superintendence of Banks and Insurance. The main results were that Accident Index suffers various changes and variations, because it depends on the industry sector development. In this investigation it was concluded that there is a growth in the demand for insurance prompted by an increased level of not expected events in this market. Therefore, the assumption made is not validated. |

Uno de ellos es la siniestralidad, debido a que permite estimar las debilidades y fortalezas de un sistema de prevención en una institución de seguros. Esta investigación tuvo como hipótesis comprobar que existe un crecimiento en la demanda incitada por un aumento en siniestralidad. Durante el periodo de análisis, el propósito fue determinar aquellos factores que delimitan la dirección del costo del seguro en el mercado ecuatoriano, en relación siniestra pagados/primas cobrada; para observar las expectativas y perspectiva de riesgo e incertidumbre. La investigación fue de tipo exploratoria y el método aplicado fue el cuantitativo, debido a que se realizó un análisis y pruebas estadísticas de una base de datos extraída de la Superintendencia de Bancos y Seguros. Los principales resultados fueron que los seguros sufren distintos cambios y variaciones, dependiendo del ramo de sector y de la siniestralidad. En esta investigación se llegó a la conclusión de que no existe un crecimiento en la demanda de seguros incitado por un aumento del nivel de siniestralidad.
