Description
Résumé:The purpose of this study is to incorporate natural fibers into bahareque blocks as an alternative to a sustainable semi-structural block in social housing as an ecological alternative. To obtain a sustainable block, the use of fibers from sugar cane bases is included, whose high fibrous content makes them a feasible choice to improve the mixture, stimulating the scientific community to explore new applications that optimize masonry production. In relation to the physical and mechanical properties observed in the study carried out, it was possible to establish that a lower quantity of added fibers led to characteristics more like those of traditional blocks. However, by increasing the proportion of fibers in a range between 5% and 6%, a reduction in weight and compressive strength was noted, together with an increase in the capacity to absorb moisture. In conclusion, the most suitable fiber proportions to preserve the characteristics required for the commercialization of sustainable blocks generate a reduction in housing costs of 34.49%.
