Zusammenfassung:This thesis presents the architectural design of a palliative care complex in Playas, Ecuador, incorporating biophilic and sensory criterium. It addresses a historical gap in end-of-life care for individuals living outside major cities. Based on an approach that prioritizes both patient dignity and well-being and family support, the Project integrates natural light, cross-ventilation, contact with coastal vegetation, and sensory stimulation strategies that foster calm, private, and supportive environments.. The study uses a mixed-methods approach- qualitative and quantitative- to explore the physical, environmental, and social context of the site, in addition to gathering perceptions and experiences from users, families, and healthcare professionals. The research findings emphasize the need for green areas, individual rooms, sensory intervention, spaces for family and psychological support, and natural views as high-priority aspects.
