In this sense, the description presented here will address issues that, although they can be presumed preliminary, are fundamental for the academic debate at the national level and that both require the consolidation of the new Ecuadorian commercial or business law. Among the main conclusions, it can be established that the new Commercial Code shows a strong regulatory trend and also tends to harmonize with the tax regime, as well as the control of market power. |

Esta iniciativa adquiere mayor relevancia y pertinencia tras la reciente promulgación del nuevo Código de Comercio publicado en el Suplemento del Registro Oficial No. 497 del 29 de mayo 2019. Los objetivos específicos son abordar el contexto local en el que ha sido expedido este cuerpo normativo y caracterizar, en concreto, las más importantes innovaciones que, a criterio de los autores, se incorporan a través del texto sustantivo mercantil. En ese sentido, la descripción aquí planteada abordará cuestiones que, aunque aparentemente pueden presumirse preliminares, resultan fundamentales para el debate académico a nivel nacional y que tanto requiere la consolidación del nuevo derecho mercantil o empresarial ecuatoriano.
