Özet:The study focuses on “Prototype paving stones based on pineapple leaf fiber for pedestrian use.” It analyzes the use of pineapple leaf fiber (PLF) in the creation of pedestrian paving stones as an alternative to traditional paving stones, with the aim of comparing their compressive strength. The methodology used is a quantitative approach. Seven designs were prepared: one traditional, three with different percentages of PSF in the sand, and three with different percentages of PSF to evaluate the effect on the mechanical properties of compressive strength. It was established that the necessary strength was 210 kg/cm² for pedestrian use, therefore, the paving stone prototypes were produced to be subjected to compression testing and were evaluated at 7, 14, and 28 days. The results revealed that certain FHP dosages were compliant, as they achieved the required strength, demonstrating positive performance and a notable comparison with traditional pavers, while other dosages were not compliant. This suggests that FHP can act as a reinforcement if used in low percentages, rather than high percentages, offering technical and economic benefits. In short, the study would contribute to the implementation of FHP as an innovative material in the production of paving stones, promoting sustainable alternatives in the field of urban construction for pedestrian use.
